Chef Alex Belew has been confirmed to join Hell’s Kitchen 2022 (season 21). Alex, who sold his company to star in the reality TV series, will contest the championship on the episode that airs on Thursday, September 29, 2022, at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on FOX. The Battle of the Ages version will feature 18 chefs divided into two groups. Those over 40 will play on the blue team, while those under 20 will play on the red team. Contestants will vie for the position of chef at one of host and celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay’s flagship restaurants.
The summary of Hell’s Kitchen is as follows:
“Ameditated chefs go through an extreme cooking school in the series to show they have the stamina and talent to enter the competition every week.” Only those with the correct combination of elements can compete until a winner is declared. The ultimate life-changing prize, which includes work as a chef at some of Ramsay’s most celebrated restaurants across the country, as well as the title of winner of HELL’S KITCHEN, is at stake.”

Alex Belew from Hell’s Kitchen 2022 (Part 21) has been in the hospitality industry for 24 years.
Alex Belew is an award-winning executive chef and host of the Cooking, Cocktails & Community podcast. Hell’s Kitchen chef Alex was also the owner/chef of the restaurant Murfreesboro Dallas and Jane for four years, from April 2018 to April 2022. He also has a meal preparation company called Made South. Meals. Hell’s Kitchen participant has been in the food service business for 24 years. According to his LinkedIn page, “his first restaurant was voted Rutherford County’s Best Restaurant by Eater Nashville and the Firefly Awards.”
In 2003, he graduated from Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. However, he discovered his true calling in cooking. Alex started his professional career more than ten years ago, but others are not happy with his choice. In one of his posts on Instagram, he wrote:
“15 years ago someone told me how stupid I was to choose this job. I worked hard every day to turn that person down.”
According to his website, alexbelew.com, Alex learned cooking fundamentals at the Tennessee Institute of the Arts in Nashville, where he graduated with an honors degree in culinary arts. Prior to becoming Executive Chef at Alex Belew Catering, LLC and MADE SOUTH HOSPITALITY, he worked as an online chef and cooking teacher. Alex “built the #1 culinary program in the nation, winning the NRA Prostart Championship” while working as a culinary arts teacher at Blackman High School.
Alex is slated to join Season 21 of Hell’s Kitchen after years of “studying, self-taught and working at some of the best restaurants in Nashville, including Sean Brock’s Husk.”
In response to his choice for Hell’s Kitchen, he commented on Instagram:
“Just getting into this program is enough to be successful.” Thousands of applicants applied. It was definitely the experience that gave me the most energy in my life. I can’t wait for you to see these fellow chefs, who I now consider family, struggle, strive, fight, win, and become the best versions of themselves. I’m lucky to be on the show, but I’m even more pleased with the people I met there.”
