Alice Estes Davis, born March 26, 1929, received a Long Beach Art Association scholarship to attend the Chouinard Institute of the Arts. She received her diploma and began designing women’s lingerie for Beverly Vogue & Lingerie House in Los Angeles. Alice is the creator of two modern lingerie brands. Marc contacted her in the mid-1950s when he was looking for an outfit for Helena Stanley’s performance as Princess Aurora in Sleeping Beauty. While collaborating on this project, he and Alice became close and married in June 1956.

Walt Disney saw the couple in a Los Angeles cafe and was impressed by Alice’s work. She was later hired as a costume designer for Toby Tyler, a 1960 drama.
