Additionally, Tompson began working in the camera division in 1948, creating camera movements and mechanics for filming animations. She was one of the first three women accepted into IATSE Local 659, the International Union of Photographers.
Tompson continued to work his way up the studio ladder, eventually taking over as manager of the screen planning division.
