Palash Muchhal was born on Monday, 22 May 1995 (age 28 years; as in 2023) in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India. His zodiac sign is Gemini. He earned his Bachelor of Commerce degree from a college in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India. In an interview about his career, he revealed that his love for music began at the age of four. He mentioned that his sister, Palak Muchhal, who is a singer, once performed in London and brought back gifts and chocolates for him. This inspired him to think that if he would sing like him, he too might get such an honor. As a result, Palash joined Kalyanji-Anandji’s Little Stars group, where Anandji Shah became his mentor. This gave him an opportunity to join Anandji Shah’s global music projects. Originally from Indore, Madhya Pradesh, his family moved to Mumbai in 2006 to pursue his and his sister’s musical dreams. Before his debut as a Bollywood actor, he appeared in a few advertisement commercials. Meanwhile, Indian director Ashutosh Gowariker caught sight of him and decided to cast him in his upcoming film. Reportedly, Gowariker was mesmerized by the composer’s curly hair. Palash made his acting debut in Ashutosh Gowariker’s Indian Hindi-language historical action-adventure film Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey. The film, starring Abhishek Bachchan and Deepika Padukone in the lead, was released on 3 December 2010. Palash played the character of Subodh Roy.

Some reports suggest that Indian actor and producer Harman Baweja first met Palash at the premiere of the film “Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey” and after the premiere, Baweja took the opportunity to listen to some of Palash’s songs and later introduced him to Shilpa Shetty Kundra. Shilpa Shetty Kundra was very impressed after listening to Palash’s songs. As a result, he gave her an opportunity to work in the film “Dishkiyaoon” produced by him. In 2014, when he was 18, he made his debut as a musician. In an interview, Palash shared a touching story about his song ‘Tu Hi Hai Aashiqui’ from Dishkiyaoon. When asked about the experience of working on the film, Palash revealed that Meet Brothers were already working on the project and supported them throughout, making the collaboration a great experience. He also shared how he used to get excited when Amitabh Bachchan himself danced to his tunes. He has composed music for several Bollywood films, such as Bhoothnath Returns (2014), Dishkiyaoon (2014), and Amit Sahni’s List (2014). Some of his famous songs include “Party Toh Banati Hai” from Bhoothnath Returns, “Tu Hi Hai Aashiqui” from Dishkiyaoon and “What’s the Fark” from Amit Sahni’s List. In 2017, he worked on the music for a video titled “Tu Jo Kahe”, featuring Parth Samthaan and Anmol Malik. Then, in 2018, he was involved in music production for two more videos: “Nisha”, starring Parth Samthaan and Charlie Chauhan, and “Fans Nahi Friends”, starring Parth Samthaan, Niti Taylor and Varun Sharma.

Ardh is an Indian Hindi-language drama film written and directed by Palash Muchhal. Famous actors Rajpal Yadav and Rubina Dilaik acted in this film. The film premieres on ZEE5 on 10 June 2022. Palash’s work as a debutant director was widely recognized and he was awarded the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Excellence Award for Best Debutant Direction.

On March 2, 2018, during the Taj Mahotsav program in Uttar Pradesh, the Uttar Pradesh Police filed a report against Palash Muchhal. He was said to have misbehaved with a member of the organizing committee. Committee member Sudhir Narayan complained that on 27 February 2018, Palash had a big argument with him during Palak Muchhal’s performance. Palash accused the committee of ill-treating his mother and according to Sudhir Narayan, she was slapped and threatened during the incident. The report was made under sections 323, 504, 506, 332 and 427 of the Indian Penal Code.
