Apoorva Asrani is a renowned Indian film editor, screenwriter and director who came into limelight for his phenomenal work in writing the famous drama web series, ‘Criminal Justice: Behind Closed Doors’ (2020), editing the superhit gangster film ‘Satya’ (1998) as well as ‘Made in Heaven’ (2019), a web series that took the entire nation by storm.

Apoorva was born on 21 March 1978 (age 45 years; as in 2023) in Bangalore, Karnataka, India. He went to Baldwin High School and later Jai Hind College for higher education where he pursued Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Apoorva was very active in theatrical productions. He was also a part of Rotaract and many other clubs in his college. He always had a dream of becoming a filmmaker and storyteller. Apoorva’s family background was not in filmmaking or editing, but his parents loved watching films. Hence Apoorva inherited the passion for films from his parents. He is now settled in Goa. Apoorva has earned an amazing reputation for his skill and craft and continues to rule the filmmaking and editing industry.

Apoorva Asrani was born in Bangalore to mixed-race parents, father Late Manohar Asrani and mother Maneka Asrani. His father was a Bombay boy and a complete “film lover”, while his mother was a South Indian girl who was a Bharatanatyam dancer in Bangalore.
