“Halloween Baking Championship” Is Set To Be Released On Food Network

The Food Network’s Halloween Baking Championship is about to return with some violent, scary, spooky yet sweet treats. The baking contest will see 12 finalists compete for a $25,000 cash prize and an all-expenses-paid stay in ten haunted houses. The bakers will compete in a spooky hotel hosted by John Henson. Summary of the Halloween Baking Championship read:

“This season of HALLOWEEN CAKES, host John Henson is the janitor of a haunted hotel and will welcome contestants to stay for eight weeks, unless their cakes fail to impress. Imitate the judges, in which case they will have to “check” and take the elevator to the mysterious 13th Floor from which the guests never return.

Halloween Baking Championship: What to Expect

Contestants in this holiday-themed baking contest will battle to create unique, delightful cakes that will shock and excite the judges’ taste buds. The bakers will compete for eight weeks while staying at the hotel. Each episode of the show will include 2 challenges where these Halloween lovers must prepare themed-specific recipes. To impress the three judges, they’ll have to make a cake with the face in the first episode, Welcome to Hotel Henson, followed by a cake covered in blood. Summary of the first volume reads:

“When host John Henson brought 12 Halloween candidates to the Henson Hotel and asked them to make the cake, no body part was safe. Then there was blood as they used blood-stained cupcakes to blind judges Stephanie Boswell, Zac Young and Carla Hall.”

Similarly, in the second episode, Croquem-Boots, the contestants had to turn croquembouche into croquem-boots and make cat-sized desserts to celebrate Puss in Boots. The Halloween Baking Championship will consist of six one-hour episodes and two two-hour specials.

The baker who survived the horror and scrapped motel will receive a $10,000 prize and a tour of ten of America’s most haunted mansions. Marcus Brackett, Jill Davis, AJ DeDiego, Kristi Descher, Justin Dominguez, Lola Forbes, Margarita Garcia, Alexey Ivanov, Zac Mercer, Lauren Rogers, Maricsa Trejo and Blayre Wright are 12 contestants competing in this heart-pounding challenge.

Meet your host

TV veteran John Henson will host another season of the Halloween Baking Championship. The presenter started his career as a stand-up comedian, and since then he has devoted himself to acting, writing, presenting, and producing. He made it to the semi-finals of Food Network’s Work Cooks in the US: Celebrity as a celebrity guest. He co-hosts ABC’s Wipeout and appears on FX’s Anger Management and NBC’s My Name Is Earl, among other shows.
