Smith came to Nashville after signing with EMI Music Publishing at the age of 19. He was a freshman at Texas A&M who pre-sold his CD to raise funds for the studio. In 1999 he released his debut studio album ‘Waiting on Forever’ under his own label Granger Smith. After that he released a series of albums, including ‘Memory Rd.’ (2004), ‘Pockets of Pesos’ (2005), ‘Livin’ Like a Lonestar’ (2006), ‘Don’t Listen to the Radio’ (2009), ‘Poets & Prisoners (2011), and many others.
Granger Smith’s Dirt Road Driveway album reached #15 on the US Country Chart and #11 on the US Indie Chart in 2013. Furthermore, in 2012 his live CD ‘Live at the Chicken’ was released. His EPs ‘We Bleed Maroon’ and ‘444’ were released in 2006 and 2015 respectively. Similarly, he played three times at the White House and flew to Iraq and Kuwait to perform for troops in 2008.
