Mohammed Fareeduddin served in the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly (MLA) for ten years from 1999 to 2009. He began his political career as a sarpanch of Chota Hyderabad and Hothi B in Zahirabad Mandal as an Indian National Congress (INC) politician representing Zahirabad . constituency.
In the 2009 election, the constituency, which had elected INC members in all but one election since 1957, was reserved for Scheduled Caste candidates, with his party choosing J. Geeta Reddy as its candidate. In addition, Fareeduddin ran in the Amberpet constituency, where he was defeated by G. Kishan Reddy of the Bharatiya Janata Party.

In August 2014 he joined the TRS. In addition, he was elected as a TRS politician to the Telangana Legislative Council in 2016, a state created in 2014 by forking Andhra Pradesh.
