Disney’s Live-Action ‘Hunchback of Notre Dame’ May Not Be Happening – Find Out Why!

The Hunchback of Notre Dame is one of many Disney classics that will get a live-action adaptation.

In 2019, the remake of the 1996 film was announced, later titled Hunchback, with Josh Gad attached to produce the project. (And as of this year, he also floated a fake fan poster with his name attached to the star.)

Disney composer Alan Menken recently gave an interview to Comicbook.com, where he discussed the film’s progress and revealed that it’s stalled.

“I have no idea. It’s difficult, because the movie The Hunchback, the story of the Hunchback, involves a lot of real issues that are important and need to be explored to be discussed,” he said.

“And there has to be an agreement on how to address those issues. You know, do we do a Hunchback without ‘Hellfire’? I don’t think so…so he is in this limbo right now, but the Hercules “Apparently the movie is on and I have some inklings of what’s going on, but only a few, and I’ve been more involved with the Broadway show of Hercules, which is coming up, and it’s really exciting.”
