Broadway Star Marva Hicks Passed Away At The Age Of 47

Marva Hicks, the famous R&B singer and actress, passed away on September 16 at the age of 47. Her cause of death has not been determined and it is not clear if she had any health problems. Her husband, Akwasi Taha, and her family informed Ebony magazine that:

“Her devotion to her partner, family, friends and entertainment world knows no bounds.” We were deeply moved by the overwhelming love. Thank you for your kindness and prayers.”

Holly Robinson-Peete, an actress and a close friend of Hicks, also paid tribute to her on social media.

All about Marva Hicks

Marva Hicks was born in Petersburg, but her exact date of birth is uncertain. She is known for her work in television, including roles in One Life to Live, Sister, Sister and Star Trek: Travel. She played Roberta Williams in both the 1999 film Asunder and the 2013 film Labor Day. In addition to her television and film roles, she is best known for her plays on Broadway and off stage.
