Jaafar Jackson, Michael Jackson’s grandson, has been confirmed to play the late pop icon in the upcoming biopic, Michael. Michael’s mother, Katherine, also praised Jaafar, calling him “the embodiment” of her son. She continued to say:
“It’s great to see him continuing Jackson’s legacy as an artist and performer.”
Graham King, the film’s producer, revealed that he met Jaafar two years ago and was amazed at how he portrayed Michael’s energy and charisma. The king continued:
“It was something so powerful that even after doing a global search, it was clear that he was the only one to take up the job. I’m so glad he’s agreed to play my uncle and I can’t wait for the world to see him on the big screen as Michael Jackson.”
Antoine Fuqua, the film’s director, expressed excitement to see Jaafar as Michael. He said that he had a spiritual connection with Jaafar during their first meeting and that the actor always performed brilliantly in front of the camera.
