Yang Hyun-suk Could Face Three Years In Prison For Covering Pp B.I’s Drug Charges

Yang Hyun-suk, former CEO of YG Entertainment, could face up to three years in prison for trying to cover up drug allegations by BI and a creepy informant for Han Seo-hee. The trial was held on November 14 at the 23rd Criminal Agreement Chamber of the Seoul Central District Court. The prosecution proposed 3 years in prison for the Korean musician and 2 years in prison for the singer BTBT.

According to the prosecution, the former boss of YG Entertainment threatened former idol trainee Han Seo-hee after she reported to the police that BI suspected her of using drugs. “Obviously he reassured the former informant by telling him that taking down someone like you was nothing. His illegal behavior was malicious and he doesn’t seem to regret it.” Yang Hyun-suk also tries to cover up the situation in other ways, which makes his crimes worse.

Yang Hyun-suk, former CEO of YG Entertainment, is accused of threatening and coercing Han Seo-hee.

In the current trial, the prosecution recommended a 3-year prison sentence for Yang Hyun-suk. After revealing information about BI’s illegal drug use, the former K-pop star was charged with blackmail and threatening to kill Han Seo-hee. Prosecutors also said Yang showed no remorse for his actions.

The former member of Seo Taiji and the Boys admitted that he talked to Han Seo-hee. However, in a statement, he denied allegations of coercion and intimidation.

“Most of the stories are fake. I advised her to be a good kid, which means don’t use drugs, and I told them because I was worried. I spent the other half of the time soothing and listen.”

According to the victim, Yang’s testimony was harsher and more threatening. Han Seo-hee is said to have said:

“Everything you said during the investigation was seen by me”, “It’s easy to kill someone like you in the entertainment industry”, “If you return the police testimony, I will reward you and choose your lawyer.”

The court will issue a final sentence in December.

BI was sentenced to three years in prison

Former iKON BI member, real name Kim Han-bin, was involved in a drug scandal in 2016, and Han Seo-hee (then known as informant ‘A’) told authorities that she gave the iKON member marijuana-and. However, she quickly denied that information and retracted her first comment. Han Seo-hee returned three years later, making the same statement and accusing Yang Hyun-suk of evading charges. The creator of YG is currently on trial and facing 3 years in prison.
