Pop music icon Taylor Swift has a new album coming out in April. She made the big announcement during her acceptance speech at the 2024 Grammy Awards.
“I know that the way the Recording Academy voted is a direct reflection of the passion of the fans. “So I want to thank the fans by telling them a secret I’ve been keeping from them for the past two years,” Swift said.
“And my new album comes out on April 19. It’s called “The Department of Tortured Poets.”

Swift criticized for snubbing music icon
Swift had a busy night at the star-studded ceremony. She earned her fourth Grammy for Album of the Year for Midnight. But her victory was overshadowed by the way she accepted the award. Music icon Celine Dion presented the award to Swift. And in the midst of her excitement over her victory, she did not recognize Dion, but simply took the trophy from her as she presented it.
The exchange caused a stir on social media.
“Not recognizing Celine’s legendary status was disrespectful, especially given her declining health. Celine Dion’s presence at the Grammys is monumental and makes Taylor’s action regrettable,” said one user.
“Taylor Swift ignored very ill legend Celine Dion during the Grammys while accepting Album of the Year. Wow. Classless personified,” said another user.
“Taylor Swift just took the album of the year trophy from Celine Dion without batting an eyelid and/or acknowledging that a legendary 🐐 was presenting her with the award. How shameful for my soul,” another user added.
Killer Mike breaks silence on Grammy arrest
The 2024 Grammys had many controversial moments. It was a night of ups and downs for rap star Killer Mike. He took home the first prize in 2024 and completed all the awards he was nominated for. And shortly afterward the Los Angeles Police Department had him handcuffed.
TMZ reported that he was in custody due to an altercation that occurred before the event. But Killer Mike says nothing happened.
“Nothing happened, man,” Killer Mike said. “But we are the winners. That’s all. We hit a roadblock and then we got back to the party.”
