Vanderpump Rules’ Lala Kent pulls out of MTV Awards in solidarity with striking writers

Lala Kent will no longer appear in the MTV Film and TV Awards 2023 this weekend and says it is out of solidarity with the writers who are on strike.

The 32-year-old reality star and actress will appear alongside the cast of her Bravo series. Vanderpump Rules.

The show is nominated for Best Docu-Reality Show and Lala is nominated for Best On-Screen Reality Team alongside Ariana Madix, Katie Maloney and Scheana Shay.

“I feel very honored to be nominated this year and grateful to all my fans who have been voting, but I have decided to stay home to support the many hard-working writers who deserve fair compensation,” Lala said in a statement. The Hollywood Reporter.

And he added: “Although Vanderpump Rules falls under the unscripted television sector, that is not an excuse for me to stay silent and continue as if there is not much at stake for each writer and their families. “We have to protect our creators and I hope you will support me and many others as we do so until we reach a resolution (hopefully very soon).”

The show’s host also retired.
