Taylor Swift landed in Las Vegas hours before Travis Kelce and his teammates took the field to face the San Francisco 49ers.
During the game, Kelce had nine receptions for 93 yards. Even though he didn’t score a touchdown, the Chiefs had a 25-22 overtime lead. The Chiefs made history by becoming the first back-to-back champions since the New England Patriots in 2005.

Although he didn’t get the chance to see Taylor Swift the night before Super Bowl LVIII, Travis Kelce did get the chance to spend time with his teammates and help motivate them with a “powerful” speech.
The New York Post reports that the tight end spoke with his teammates while at the hotel with Patrick Mahomes and Chris Jones. NFL Network’s Albert Breer reported that the speeches given by the three players brought some of their teammates to tears.
Kelce’s comments were called “incredible” and “powerful.” CBS’s Tracy Wolfson also said that Travis Kelce “hit it out of the park” with his speech.
“His speech was powerful, shocking. “There wasn’t a dry eye in the house and this team is absolutely ready to go.”
Wolfson also said that Kelce’s speech was like a “WWE-type” speech. “That was the best and most emotional team meeting in years.”
NFL Network’s James Palmer shared that he spoke with three Chiefs coaches about Travis Kelce’s speech. They reportedly said it was “the best speech” they had ever seen a play give in front of a team. “I get chills just telling you this speech,” said one coach.
Palmer later said a switch flipped and excitement “turned” into fire. “He was beating his chest, going up and down the hallways among all of his teammates,” Palmer reported. “Talking about that fire alarm that’s getting a lot of attention this week, how it was necessary, how they’re ready for this game.”
