Rivers Cuomo entered the mainstream industry in early 1989. He, bassist Matt Sharp, drummer Patrick Wilson, and guitarist Jason Cropper founded the rock band Weezer in 1992.
He then signed with DGC, a subsidiary of Geffen Records, on June 25, 1993.
Later, the band’s album, “Blue Album,” was released in May 1994. On January 1, 1995, with more than one million copies sold, the album was certified platinum.
