Star Wars Day 2024 is almost upon us, and here are all the confirmed releases – and the best deals as they’re announced. Since 2011, May 4th has become one of the most important days in the Star Wars calendar, with Disney and Lucasfilm celebrating it in style. It’s based on a pun that actually dates back to British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher in 1979, when her Conservative Party celebrated an election win by posting an ad: “May the Fourth Be with You, Maggie.”
This year’s Star Wars Day celebrations are more exciting than ever before. This is, after all, the 25th anniversary of Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace, meaning Lucasfilm and Disney are combining the annual event with something much more spectacular. Here are all the major announcements to date, on a post that will be updated with further information and all the best deals when they come out.

The Phantom Menace is being re-released in theaters as part of the movie’s 25th anniversary celebrations, giving viewers a chance to watch the epic on the big screen once again. Even more excitingly, this re-release will be accompanied by exclusive footage from The Acolyte, an upcoming Disney+ TV show that serves as something of a prequel to the prequels. But, as if that wasn’t enough, Lucasfilm has further confirmed this is part a Skywalker saga marathon.
Star Wars Day 2024 is the biggest celebration ever, with all nine instalments of the Skywalker saga returning to the big screen around May 4th. While The Phantom Menace is at the heart of this, it means theaters will be celebrating the entire saga, and audiences will be able to move from the prequels to the original trilogy, and then on to the sequels. This is an unmissable, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

Lucasfilm recently released the trailer for Tales of the Empire, six animated shorts that will release on Disney+ on Star Wars Day 2024. Three of these episodes will focus on Ahsoka villain Morgan Elsbeth, shining new light on the Dathomiri witch’s backstory; another three will explore the story of Barriss Offee, a Jedi Padawan who betrayed the Order during the Clone Wars and looks set to become an Imperial Inquisitor. A sequel to the much-loved Tales of the Jedi, this should be unmissable viewing.
