Rana Daggubati was born on 14 December 1984 (age 39 years; born 0f 2023) in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. He completed his schooling from Hyderabad Public School, Begumpet, Hyderabad. After completing his school, he started pursuing B.Com but later he left his studies after 2 months. He graduated in Industrial Photography from Chennai Film School.

Rana was born and brought up in a family with a film background.
He is part of the Daggubati-Akkineni family. He is the grandson of Telugu film producer Daggubati Ramanaidu and Rajeshwari Akkineni Daggubati is his grandmother.
His father, Daggubati Suresh Babu, is a film producer, while his mother, Lakshmi Daggubati, is a housewife.
His uncle Venkatesh and his cousin Naga Chaitanya are also actors. He has two siblings; a younger brother, Abhiram Daggubati and a younger sister, Malavika Daggubati.
During his college days, he was in a relationship with a girl who got married to someone else. After entering the film industry, he fell in love with actress Trisha Krishna, but later they separated.

He started his career as a film producer in 2004 with the film Bommalatha. He entered the film industry as an actor in 2010 with the Telugu film “Leader” and entered Bollywood with the film “Dum Maaro Dum” (2011).
He worked in the film Bahubali which was the second highest grossing Indian film of that year.
In a Times of India poll, he was voted India’s 10th Most Desirable Man of 2010, Most Promising Newcomer of 2011 and was ranked 20th in the Most Desirable Men of 2011 list.
In 2004, he won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Telugu (Bommalatha) and the Nandi Award for Best Special Effects for Sainikudu.
