Sean Kanan was born in Ohio on November 2, 1966. Over the years, he has played a number of notable roles in popular movies and TV series. He is known for his roles in legendary soap operas such as General Hospital, The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful, along with his appearance as Mike Barnes in The Karate Kid III.
Verotica, The Outlaw and 10 Attitudes are just some of his cinematic achievements. He has also received and been nominated for several awards, including the Independent Series Award for Outstanding Lead Actor for his work in Studio City, a Soap Opera Digest Award nomination for his work on ABC’s General Hospital, and many others. Mike Barnes, Kanan’s most famous character, made his debut in the 1989 action movie The Karate Kid Part III. Barnes is a talented boxer who has won several major national competitions. In his early days, he was known as a brutal karate fighter.
Terry Silver, the main antagonist in The Karate Kid Part III, recruits Barnes after reading about him in a magazine. Silver wants Barnes to win the next All Valley karate tournament against Daniel LaRusso. Details about Barnes’ involvement in the fifth season of Cobra Kai are being kept under wraps.
