Abhimanyu started his career as a radio jockey at an early age. He joined All India Radio as a trainee when he was in high school. There he used to do voiceovers for pre-recorded shows. While he was pursuing his graduation he started hosting prime-time morning segments on a radio station in 2008 and earned Rs. 30,000 per month. After completing post-graduation in 2012, started doing international shows in Vancouver and Ontario, Canada. In 2012, she started hosting a romantic show on 94.3 MY FM in Chandigarh after coming back to India. In an interview, he said that he was not satisfied with his job because he was not hosting a prime-time morning segment show. He also formed a rock band “By Chance Music Creators” (BCMC) which performed throughout Punjab. When he was part of a rock band, he was offered a job at Delhi Radio City in Delhi, where he played guitar and sang love songs for the audience on the radio. In an interview, he had said that he was not happy with his job even in Delhi Radio City, so he decided to start a career in television. In 2014, he finally got the chance to host the morning prime-time segment after joining 92.7 BIG FM, Chandigarh.
Television
In 2014, his journey on television began when he was offered the show India’s Best Cinestars Khoj. He was in the top 12 in the show, but later he was eliminated from the show. Talking about his elimination in an interview, he said,
Styrofoam balls will float in the air and the scene will be all set for winter romance with white snowflakes reflecting on it. As soon as I opened my hand to let these tiny particles fly, I felt a strange sensation at the back of my throat and within a second I fell to the floor. What happened was that one of these flying particles got stuck in my windpipe, causing me to fall. I was given CPR and there was chaos at the scene. They said they would call me back to the show using the wild card strategy. I waited for him to come back for 18 days. He didn’t. And they didn’t even air this episode on TV. I was thrown out of the show in August 2014 on the basis of this freak accident.
