Stranger Things star Natalia Dyer appeared on August 12, episode 181 of season 9 of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, which also featured Megan Thee Stallion as a guest. In the episode, the actress told about the love triangle of Nancy Wheeler’s character, which she took on. Then, when host Jimmy Fallon showed a photo of Dyer from the film’s red carpet premiere in 2009, she mentioned her Hollywood debut with Hannah Montana: The Movie. Dyer went on to say that her appearance in Stranger Things was not her first major acting job.

“I was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee.” So it wasn’t – it wasn’t a big movie town back then. And then – you know, this big show came along. It is very important. Everyone was ecstatic. And, yes, they have two British twin roles that they decided to cast locally. And I–they said, ‘We want a woman from Nashville, Tennessee, to be British.'”
Natalia Dyer, 14, plays Clarissa Granger, one of two children of journalist Oswald Granger (played by Peter Gunn) in the film. The film’s main nemesis is a journalist trying to figure out the hidden identity of Hannah Montana: Miley Stewart (played by Miley Cyrus).
The characters of Natalie Dyer and her twin sister are die-hard fans of the fantasy singer in Hannah Montana: The Movie. In 2020, the actress talked more about the role with People magazine. She stated:
“I’m not sure it directly affects my popularity. I don’t think I really talked about a lot of the things I did in school. It was just something that happened.”
Meanwhile, the 27-year-old Nashville actress told Cosmopolitan earlier this month that she feels she doesn’t have a good British accent in the film. She stated:
“It was a bit chaotic, but it was fun.” I play an English character. I don’t think I have the right British accent, but I’m not sure if I can pronounce it properly. All this was new to me then; I was young and my mother was on set.”
However, Hannah Montana gave Natalia Dyer the experience she needed to star in another Disney film, The Greening of Whitney Brown, in 2011. Dyer was cast in independent films like 2013’s Don’t Let Me Go and 2014’s After Darkness after making cameos in similar films. She then landed her most famous role to date as Nancy Wheeler in Stranger Things.
