On Sunday, December 4, Sister Wives aired season 17, episode 13. Janelle and Kody met at a restaurant this week to plan where to celebrate Thanksgiving. Janelle decides to meet her boys for the carnival and then heads back to Arizona for Christmas because their kids aren’t particularly close. Kody gets angry and compares his relationship with Janelle to his relationship with Robyn. He added that Robyn was extremely loyal to him, but Janelle made some “womanly” choices, such as buying a camping van. Janelle said that Kody made Robyn feel like a “saint” and their abusive family.
She refuses to blame Robyn when Kody asks her why she is so loyal to Christine and not Robyn. Janelle said that Christine was always with her when her children were young. Kody believes he has lost respect for women who have been unfaithful to him, even refusing to talk to his children who disagree with Robyn. Viewers of Sister Wives were surprised when Kody compared Janelle to Robyn and suggested that she was “delusional” about her love for Janelle.

Kody married Janelle in 1993 and Robyn married him in 2014. Due to Covid, Kody decided to adopt Robyn’s children from a previous marriage and even spent two stuck in the house with Robyn. Because of Covid, he refused to see the children, not even contact them. Janelle refused to divorce Kody, calling him “best friend and lover”. She worries about her intention to continue her polygamous marriage to Kody, as Kody prefers to be with Robyn than she does.
Sister Wives fans criticized Kody on Twitter for promoting Janelle to be “more faithful” like Robyn, implying that he would leave Janelle for a younger wife.

Kody approaches Janelle about buying Christine’s old house, but Janelle refuses because she is planning to build another house in Coyote Pass. Kody reminds her that she wouldn’t be in this financial predicament if she had followed his advice not to buy an RV.
