- Manisha Rani was inclined towards dancing and acting since childhood. She used to participate in local dance competitions and got first place.
- When Manisha was in 12th class, she wanted to participate in the reality show ‘Dance India Dance’; However, his father opposed the idea. In an interview, Manisha talked about her dreams of becoming an actor and dancer and revealed that she attempted to convince her father to allow her to relocate to Kolkata with a friend, in the hope that she would pursue a career there. She wanted to pursue her passion, but her father did not allow it. one of two. Determined to fulfill her dreams, Manisha left a letter for her father at home, expressing her regret over her decision and left for Kolkata. She told that her father stopped talking to her for an entire year after she left. Manisha Rani said in the interview,
When I ran away from home, I went to Kolkata. I wanted to learn dancing and my father was not allowing me, so, I wrote a letter to my father and I ran away with a friend. I wrote to my father, “Please forgive us.” I boarded the train without a ticket. I was so fearless that I had no fear of being arrested, I used to sit in the lockup for 2 hours. In fact, we will not even buy a Rs 5 platform ticket in Kolkata. I lived in a house whose condition was so bad that I don’t think any of my family members would be able to live there today. The condition of the house was very bad and there were mosquitoes too and one could not even go out of the house because of the mosquitoes.”
- In an interview, Manisha shared her challenging experiences in Kolkata. She mentioned working as a background dancer and waitress at various weddings, where she earned a daily wage of Rs 1,000. Rs 500 as a waitress. Manisha remembered an incident when she struggled to pay the rent. To overcome his financial constraints, he decided to work as a background dancer in programs in Kolkata and villages around Bihar; Manisha got the offer to work in these events from a boy named Monty. Upon reaching the venues, Manisha noticed that other dancers were wearing attractive costumes and performing provocative movements. However, she decided to maintain her modesty and refused to wear bold clothes. Manisha danced at these events for about 10 days, but eventually reached a point where she decided to return to Kolkata. When she asked the manager for her payment, he insisted that she dance for two more days before receiving it. Manisha refuses and asks him to keep the money and let her go. However, the manager locks him in a room against his will, insisting that he stay for an additional two days. Manisha managed to find a way to escape this situation. Stranded without phone or money, she reached the railway station and contacted her boyfriend who lives in Kolkata. He requested him to send money. 500 so that he can travel back to Kolkata. On reaching Kolkata railway station, where her boyfriend came to pick her up, Manisha fainted.
- According to Manisha, after living in Kolkata for some time, she decided to go back to Munger, Bihar and she started making videos and uploading them on TikTok, due to which she got a chance to do some programs in Patna, Bihar. In an interview, she said that the director of a television serial named ‘Gudiya Hamari Sabhi Pe Bhari’ on &TV offered her a role after her video went viral and asked her to reach Mumbai for a look test. Manisha Rani got this role and she worked in this serial for about two years.
