Celestine Ann was the daughter of a longshoreman and a seamstress from Galveston, Texas. She took up her mother’s trade at a young age and began making dresses while she was in high school. Tina moved to California after her 19th birthday to work as a makeup artist for Shiseido Cosmetics. A year later, she returned to Texas after her parents became ill.
With Mathew’s help, Tina opened a salon called Headliners in Houston. The super successful salon helped Tina and her family to live a high class life. The popularity of Destiny’s Child in the 1990s brought Tina into the public spotlight. She gained fame for creating unforgettable costumes for the band’s stage performances and became a global fashion icon as a result. Beyonce described her mother’s trade in an email she sent to The New York Times:
“My mom has always been interested in making women feel beautiful, whether it’s through someone sitting on her couch or making a prom dress for one of the girls at church. And her art collection always told stories of women who wanted to do the same.”
At the height of Destiny Child’s success, Tina wrote the book Destiny’s Style: Sexy Fashion, Destiny’s Child Beauty and Lifestyle Secrets, in which he discussed the role of fashion in the success of Destiny’s Child. In 2004, Tina collaborated with Beyonce to open the affordable, modern clothing brand House of Dereon. She later opened a clothing line aimed at older women known as Miss Tina. In 1976, Mathew moved to Houston and worked for the Xerox Corporation as a medical equipment salesman. He left his career as a salesman in 1992 to focus on growing his music company. Mathew experienced success and established joint ventures with Sony Music and Interscope.
He became a manager for Destiny’s Child and worked as a producer on several of the group’s projects. After the group disbanded, he continued to manage his individual music careers. Mathew has also produced movies and television shows, including Obsessed and Breaking From Above.
In late 2015, Mathew wrote his first book, The DNA of Achievers: 10 Traits of Highly Successful Professionals. Tina and Mathew married in the late 1970s. Thirty-three years and two children later, Tina filed for divorce. She sought a divorce from her after it was revealed that Mathew cheated on her with Alexsandra Wright and had a child with her. She withdrew the separation lawsuit in 2010 when the couple tried to reconcile. She filed for divorce again in August 2011 after the reconciliation failed, and the divorce became final in November 2011.
The divorce sent Tina into a downward spiral and she admits that she lost herself for a while. She said The New York Times:
“I lost myself. All these things that I love, going to art shows, reading art books, going out dancing, I had given them up. That’s not really loving yourself if you don’t take care of yourself in terms of your needs and what you get.” make happy”.

In mid-2019, Mathew began noticing blood stains on the shirts he was wearing and his wife saw a blood stain on the couple’s bed sheet. Initially, Mathew didn’t think it was cancer, but he decided to have a mammogram to be sure. The fact that his family had a history of breast cancer convinced him that he needed a checkup.
The test confirmed that she had breast cancer and informed her family. She underwent a double mastectomy to reduce cancer recurrence to 2%. Mathew uses his experience with the disease to educate others about the disease and how to detect it early. He wrote about the need for men to talk about breast cancer in an article he wrote for Good morning america:

Matthew Knowles said Ebony that, growing up in Alabama, he was conditioned to look down on dark-skinned black women. While promoting his book Racism: From the Eyes of a Child, Matthew said:
“When I was a child, my mother used to say, ‘Never bring a black girl with diapers on her head into my house. In the Deep South in the ’50s, ’60s, and ’70s, the shade of your blackness was considered important. So, unfortunately, I grew up hearing that message.”
Matthew admitted that colourism influenced his love life, drawing him towards white women or “black women who looked white”. Matthew started dating Tina because he thought she was white. He said: “Actually, when I first met Tina, my ex-wife, I thought she was white. I found out later that she wasn’t, and actually she was very in tune with the blackness of her.”
“With the anger eroticized, there was actually anger in me as a black man, and I saw the white woman as a way, subconsciously, to get revenge or revenge,” Matthew continued. He implied that colorism influences success in the music industry. He explained:
