Lydian Nadhaswaram was born on Tuesday, 6 September 2005 (age 15 years; as in 2020) in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. His zodiac sign is Virgo. Lydian started his journey at a very young age and showed interest in music when he was just 3 years old. He used xylophone sticks to play a rhythm that is considered a 3/4 pattern by a professional drummer. Lydian’s father saw potential in him and started teaching him from an early age, but due to practice sessions he had to study from home.

Lydian’s father Varshan Satish is a music director in the film industry. His mother, Jhansi, is a housewife. He has an elder sister, Amrita Varshini. Amrita is a singer and flautist and works with Lydian in videos for his YouTube channel.

At the age of four, Lydian was taking early-morning training sessions from music teacher and drummer, Maynard Grant. Lydian’s sister Amirtha Varshini started taking piano lessons and they would go together for sessions. By the age of eight, Lydian had performed in over 600 shows with her father. After watching his father play the piano, Lydian decided to learn piano and he entered the KM Music Conservatory, a higher education institution, to learn classical and western music. She spent four years there before participating and winning an award on the CBS talent show ‘The World’s Best’.

- Lydian is a talented child. Apart from piano, he can play drums, sitar and even conduct sessions with tabla. He likes to keep switching between different musical instruments to master each instrument and perform better.
- The name of the Lydian Nadaswaram is also inspired by music. Their name, Lydian, means a melodic scale in Western culture. His last name, “Nadaswaram” is also the name of a musical instrument that is used during temple ceremonies and weddings as it is considered very sacred and auspicious.

- In 2013, Lydian was featured on POGO channel as India’s Fastest Child Drummer. In 2017, his reputation as a drummer earned him the opportunity to perform in a drum solo session on National Drum Day in Mumbai.
- Lydian has been compared to Mozart because they both had many things in common like Mozart had an elder sister and Lydian also has similarities. Mozart was adept at many instruments and played them very well, the Lydian also has the same quality.
- Lydian can play the piano blindfolded and when he was called on The Ellen DeGeneres Show he performed for the public. During her interview on the show, Lydian expressed her desire to perform on the moon.
- Lydian can play a variety of instruments but would like to have the opportunity to learn and play the harp and nadaswaram. He posts videos of himself playing various instruments on his YouTube channel.
- During his “The World’s Best” performance, Lydian played ‘The Bumblebee’ on the piano during the show and kept increasing the playing speed. They played the same song at 280 beats per minute and then finally at 325. This is the result of practicing for 5-6 hours every day.
- Lydian Nadaswaram made his debut as a film composer in the Indian Malayalam-language fantasy film Barrows: Guardian of D’Gama’s Treasure. The film was directed by Mohanlal. On 4 September 2020, Lydian made his debut as an actor in a musical film ‘Atkan Chatkan’. The film was presented by AR Rahman and was released on the online streaming platform, ZEE5.
