Loreen’s original song, “Tattoo,” earned her 583 points in the contest, according to Variety. Her closest competitor was the Finnish Käärijä, who scored 526 points.
His first victory was in 2012 with his song “Euphoria.” She then she also represented Sweden. She is the first person to achieve multiple Eurovision wins since Johnny Logan won for Ireland in 1980 and 1987, according to Metro.
With its victory, Sweden also equals Ireland as the most awarded country in Eurovision. Both countries have won the contest seven times.
It’s a safe bet that Sweden will host the contest in 2024. It is generally customary for the winning country to take over hosting duties next year; however, the United Kingdom was the host this year after Ukraine’s victory in 2022 due to the ongoing war.
