Netflix is bringing back our favorite big warrior Panda for a second season with Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight. The all-new animated series will continue Po, the Dragon Warrior’s amazing adventure. This time, he’ll be accompanied by a new companion, Wandering Blade. The series, based on the characters developed by Ethan Reiff and Cyrus Voris, will launch on Netflix on Thursday, July 14, 2022. Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight is the ninth spinoff and third series in the Kung Fu Panda franchise. Here’s all you need to know about Netflix’s new animated series.
What can we expect from Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight? The plot and trailer are now available
According to the official summary of the animated series, as disclosed on IMDb:
“Follow Po as he teams up with Wandering Blade, a no-nonsense English knight, to acquire a collection of four powerful weapons before a mysterious pair of weasels do, and rescue the world from disaster.”
The new series will follow Po, China’s once-celebrated hero, on a completely new quest to rescue the world and reclaim his lost reputation. Po will link up with an English knight dubbed Wandering Blade in the forthcoming Kung Fu Panda film to defeat a pair of renowned weasels. The series trailer may be seen here.
Fans are ecstatic after seeing the teaser for Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight
The two-and-a-half-minute short is jam-packed with action, smart one-liners, and Po’s hijinks, all of which contributed to Kung Fu Panda’s popularity in the first place. Although the original Furious Five are not visible in the teaser, the new cooperation between the Dragon Master and Wandering Blade seems to be promising.
The caption behind the trailer also provides a brief synopsis:
“When a mysterious pair of weasels set their eyes on a collection of four deadly weapons, Po is forced to flee his village and embark on a globe-trotting adventure for forgiveness and justice, joining up with a no-nonsense English knight dubbed Wandering Blade, played by Rita Ora. These two mismatched warriors go on an epic quest to discover the magical weapons first and rescue the planet from annihilation.”
Po, who is constantly buzzing with energy, humor, and excitement, and Wandering Blade, a no-nonsense, goal-oriented knight, will undoubtedly bring additional flavor to the narrative as the couple learn from each other and unite to rescue the planet.
