Jitendra Awhad is an Indian politician. He is a member of the Nationalist Congress Party. He was a member of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly for three terms – 2009, 2014 and 2019. He became the Minister of Minority Development and Auqaf in March 2022.

Jitendra Satish Awhad was born on Monday, 5 August 1963 (age 60 years; as in 2023) in Nashik, Maharashtra. His zodiac sign is Leo. He completed his schooling from St. John the Baptist High School, Thane. According to some sources, he completed his Bachelor of Arts from Bombay University (later renamed Mumbai University) in 1986, however, other sources suggest that he obtained his bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering Studies from Mumbai University. Some sources say that he earned a master’s degree in Personnel Management from the University of Mumbai, however, some other sources say that he completed a master’s degree in Labor Studies from the University of Mumbai in 1989. During his college days, Jitendra was appointed as the Gymkhana Secretary, and later, he became the Secretary of the All-India Sports Club. India Student Organization. Jitendra Awhad was appointed as the first national president of the Youth National Congress party after the formation of NCP in 1999. He was elected as the Member of the Legislative Council twice in 2002 and 2008. In October 2009, he contested his first Maharashtra Legislative Assembly election. Case of assault on engineer

On the night of April 5, 2020, a civil engineer, Anant Karamuse, had filed a case of kidnapping and assault against Jitendra Awhad over the morphed pictures posted by him on social media. In his statement, he mentioned that he was kidnapped by some police officers and brought to Awhad’s house where he was assaulted by the police officers and Awhad’s bodyguards; He also posted pictures of the bruises on his back on social media. Two cases were registered against Jitendra Awhad in November 2022. A case of molestation was filed by Bharatiya Janata Party leader Rida Rashid; He said that Jitendra had pushed him during an inauguration ceremony. While narrating his story in an interview he said

Comment on the film The Kerala Story

A case of non-cognizable offense was registered against Jeetendra at Vartak Nagar police station over his comments made by a worker on the controversial film The Kerala Story.
