We recently chatted with Captain Lee and learned 10 Fun Facts about him! See them below.

  1. People are always surprised to hear I grew up in Saginaw, Michigan and never saw the ocean with my own eyes until I moved to Turks & Caicos at the age of 35.
  2. I love going to the gym – whether on land or sea – I work out 7 days a week.
  3. The best dish I’ve ever tasted is Chef Rachel’s French Toast, made by Below Deck’s very own Rachel Hargrove. The only thing that compares is Mary Anne’s special chocolate pie.
  4. I’ve been spoiled with some of the finest chefs on board, but I’m foodie off the ship too. Before I was a captain Mary Anne and I owned 10 different restaurants across Florida, Indiana, and Turks and Caicos. I am planning to open a new restaurant in Ft. Lauderdale.
  5. I was also the manager of a Wendy’s restaurant when I was first starting out and that is actually where I learned the importance of delivering great customer service.

  1. In addition to all different parts of the food industry, I started out my career working in high steel.
  2. I still have places left on my bucket list including the Maldives, Seychelles and the Galápagos.
  3. I’d love to put out a coffee table book featuring all my favorite one-liners over the years.
  4. This summer I embarked on a new adventure with Dramamine, the #1 pharmacist-recommended brand for motion sickness, to launch the ‘Ditch the Drama’ Sweepstakes and give three winners the chance to take the ultimate dream vacation to anywhere in the world, all planned by the travel experts at Travelocity. You can enter at DramamineDitchtheDrama.com until September 4th.
  5. Despite spending nearly forty years at sea, I’m no stranger to motion-related sea sickness. Although, I haven’t experienced it myself in many years, when I first started, a bucket was my best friend on night watches. Now, I help crew members and guests get over motion sickness with different remedies I’ve learned over the years, including Dramamine, which has a variety of options suitable for all travelers.
