Legendary Punjabi singer Surinder Shinda had a long and fruitful career. His first album, “Ucha Burj Lahore Da,” was published in 1979. He started singing in the early 1970s. Due to the album’s enormous success, Shinda became well-known throughout Punjab.
Shinda thereafter put out more than 165 albums, several of which were also hits. He is most known for his songs “Jatt Jeona Morh,” “Putt Jattan De,” “Truck Billiya,” “Balbiro Bhabhi,” and “Kaher Singh Di Mout.” Additionally, he made appearances in a number of Punjabi films, such as “Putt Jattan De” and “Ucha Dar Babe Nanak Da.”
Shinda was renowned for his distinctive vocal style, which combined elements of classical and folk music. He was a talented songwriter as well, penning several of his own tunes. Many other Punjabi vocalists, such as Kuldeep Manak, Amar Singh Chamkila, and Gill Hardeep, were greatly influenced by Shinda.

After a protracted illness, Surinder Shinda passed away on Wednesday at a hospital in Ludhiana.
Surinder Shinda, a well-known Punjabi musician best known for his famous songs Putt Jattan De, Jatt Deona Morh, and Truck Balliya, passed away on Wednesday in a Ludhiana private hospital following a protracted illness. In his 60s, Surinder Shinda passed away in the Dayanand Medical College and Hospital. He performed in a number of popular Punjabi films, including Putt Jattan De, Ucha Dar Babe Nanak Da, and Badla Jatti Da, during the course of his singing career.
Politicians and artists alike expressed their sorrow over Shinda’s passing. “Very sad to hear the news of the death of famous singer Surinder Shinda ji,” Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann tweeted. Punjab’s voice is now permanently mute. Sukhbir Singh Badal, leader of the Shiromani Akali Dal, praised the singer’s invaluable contribution to Punjabi music.
