Renowned journalist Drew Griffin passed away on December 17 at the age of 60. According to various sources, he had a long battle with cancer, which eventually led to his death. According to CNN, Drew never mentioned his health problems to anyone and continued to do his job until his death on Saturday. CNN’s This Morning host Don Lemon also expressed grief when revealing information on December 19 that the program would honor the late reporter. Drew Griffin began his career at CNN in 2004.
Drew Griffin is believed to have been born in 1961 or 1962. Although little is known about his upbringing or education, he graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a degree in communications. He has worked as a reporter and cameraman for WICD-TV, covering events in various locations. He later became an investigative reporter for KIRO-TV.
He rose to fame as a reporter and presenter at CBS 2 News, where he began his career in 1994. He was also involved in building the investigative reporting team of CBS 2 News. channel and covered many events, including the war on terror after September 11, the terrorist attacks of 2002.
He left CBS 2 News and joined CNN in May 2004, covering sports, politics, and government affairs. After Hurricane Katrina in 2005, he traveled to New Orleans to document the aftermath of that natural disaster. Griffin had the opportunity to travel around the world and track important events such as the famine in Somalia. His journalistic background allows him to focus on issues like Alzheimer’s research, Los Angeles-based underground medical networks, and fraud at Los Angeles International Airport.
He then examined the deaths of 19 soldiers serving in veterans’ institutions, and it turned out that the tragedy was caused by a delay. Following the disclosure, Veterans Affairs Minister Eric Shinseki was forced to resign, and Congress passed legislation allowing veterans to receive treatment outside of the Department of Veterans Affairs.
