A new leak has supposed details pertaining to Destiny 2’s upcoming Season 14, including enemies, new exotics, and even the new activity.
Details pertaining to Destiny 2‘s upcoming Season 14 update have been leaked and a hefty amount of information has been uncovered. The leak covers the supposed enemy focus of the season alongside some plot details, new exotic weapons, and new seasonal activities. This leak comes just under a month before the game’s current season will be coming to an end giving nosy players some information to occupy them until an official announcement.
Destiny 2 released in 2017 and was followed by middling to positive reviews. While maintaining its crisp gunplay and extremely satisfying collection of superpowers, the game still had the failings of the original. Many players complain that Bungie has not figured out the formula for compelling end game content. Steps have been made to remedy these issues since the game went free-to-play as well as fleshing out the universe in other ways outside of the Destiny series. The game continues to have a sizable player base made up of dedicated fans despite general complaints.
An anonymous leaker has released some details on 4Chan and claims these to be the general details surrounding the upcoming Season 14. The information suggests that the new season will be named the Season of the Collectives and it will focus on a never-before-seen Vex threat that has figured out how to manipulate the timeline in specific ways. This creates an ongoing conflict where Guardians will need to take the fight to multiple Vex incursions that will pit players against various Vex from multiple timelines. The leak also suggests that a new form of Vex will be wielding the game’s Stasis element type.
The post also goes into detail about three exotic weapons that will supposedly be added to the game. The first two of which should be familiar to any Destiny veteran. The machine gun Super Good Advice and the notorious fusion rifle, Vex Mythoclast, will be making returns through various activities during the season. A brand new linear fusion rifle exotic known as the First Tempo will be added as well. Destiny‘s seasonal weapons are always very sought after by Guardians, so the First Tempo should not be an exception, especially given its exotic status.
Season 14’s new activity is described as a Vex Incursion event that will be for three players and support matchmaking. The activity’s loot system will allow players to target specific drops they want throughout the activity, making the grind for specific weapons way easier. In other Bungie news, the historic developer has recently detailed a massive push to expand the Destiny universe outside the games and promises that instead of focusing on another sequel for their sci-fi shooter they will be continuously working on keeping Destiny 2 going strong for years to come. They went on to explain that they have another project in development that won’t likely see the light of day until 2025. This information suggests that Bungie is adding another titan project to their already impressive resume.
