Debshankar Halder was born on Friday, 8 January 1965 (age 55 years; as in 2020) in Kolkata. Their zodiac sign is Capricorn. He did his graduation from the Scottish Church College, University of Calcutta. While in college, Halder was part of student politics. Since his father was a Bengali actor, he introduced Debshankar to the world of theatre. In 1986, he joined a workshop organized by Nandikar to learn acting. During the workshop, he became so attached to acting that he decided to become a theater artist.

As a part of the Nandikar group, Debshankar performed plays such as “Shesh Shekatkar,” “Gotrohen,” “Football,” “Nagar Kirtan,” and “Jaha Chai.” Subsequently, he did several plays with other theater groups, such as Winkle Twinkle (Sansriti), Virus M (Gonokrishti), Shajahan (Natyaranga), Furut (Blank Verse), Topi (Story Teller), and Romcom (Lokkrishti).
