“Dance Monsters” Season 1 Is Set To Be Released On Netflix

The first three episodes of Netflix Dancing with the Monsters will be released simultaneously on Friday, December 16, 2022, at 3:01 a.m. ET. The next three episodes will be released on Friday, December 23, 2022, and the final three will be released at 3:01 AM ET on Friday, December 30, 2022.

The Pussycat Dolls’ Ashley Roberts will host the show, which will be judged by musician Ne-Yo, YouTuber Lele Pons and choreographer Ashley Banjo. It will feature 15 amateur dancers participating in an epic dance fight, hiding their faces until eliminated.

The premise and rules of Dance Monsters

The 15 dancers in the show will be replaced with computer-generated animals. The judges and audience will only witness the monstrous creature dancing on their screens, mirroring the actions of actual dancers performing off-camera thanks to CGI effects. Through 9 episodes, the audience will understand more about real dancers, their lives, difficulties and obstacles when it comes to professional choreography. This is why dancers are afraid to appear in front of the camera. Fans will only find out the true identities of the contestants after they’ve been eliminated.

To win $ 250,000 and the title of Ultimate Dance Monster, the contestants will have to go through 5 rounds including solo dance, duet and one-on-one challenge. The winner will also have the opportunity to pursue a career as a professional dancer.

Dance Monsters Competition Structure

In the first round, the participants will be divided into three races, each with five CGI monsters. First, five monsters will perform alone and three dancers will advance to the next round. The bottom two will compete in dance, with only one advancing to the second round. Once the identities are revealed, the three eliminated dancers will be sent home.

In round 2, the CGI monsters will be divided into teams of six. After an independent performance, one contestant from each team was eliminated. After that, the 2 lowest performers in the solo stage will enter the dance competition. The dancer of the team with the lowest score will be eliminated. Only eight of the Dance Monsters contestants will make it to the quarterfinals, where they will compete in teams of two. After their performance, the four monsters faced disqualification and had to claim their place in a 30-second freestyle battle. Two will be eliminated, while six will advance to the semi-finals.

In round 4, the survivors will have to win exclusive finals with solo performances. Only four unidentified CGI creatures will come to a conclusion.
