Well done with some drama, Chris Brown took to Instagram to declare that he is “fed up with people” after he was disinvited from the 2024 NBA All-Star Game.
According Billboard, Brown revealed details about why he was no longer invited to attend the big game on his Instagram Stories. The musician posted a screenshot of an email stating that he was welcome to the event. “We’re thrilled to have you be a part of the weekend!” the email says. The message also asked for a press-approved photo of Brown, as well as a biography about him.
However, Chris Brown stated that things changed unexpectedly and he was no longer welcome in the game. “The NBA asked me to play in this year’s All-Star Game! Only for them to call later and say they couldn’t do it because of their sponsors, like RUFFLE. At this point, I’m sick of people picking on me and I’m tired of living in the damn past.”
Brown said he posted the emails so everyone could know the NBA had invited him. “IT’S NOT HAPPENING,” he added. “I ONLY GO WHERE THEY APPRECIATE ME.”
Meanwhile, an NBA spokesperson revealed to Billboard that Ruffles did not participate in the Celebrity Game lists. A representative for Ruffles also told the media outlet: “Ruffles sponsored the NBA Celebrity All-Star Game, however, Ruffles had no involvement or visibility in player decisions or discussions regarding celebrity invitations.” .
The NBA All-Star weekend took place this past weekend in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Chris Brown refutes Ruffles’ statement, claiming the brand was trying to ‘save face’
Although Ruffles clarified that he had nothing to do with the Celebrity Game rosters, Chris Brown had no problem refuting the brand’s claims.
According to XXL Mag, Brown stated on his Instagram Stories that Ruffles was trying to “save face” after he called them out. “STAY IN BUSINESS. Don’t try to make it look like I’m hallucinating. “YOU AND THE NBA representatives know exactly what you are doing.”
In a separate post, Chris Brown stood by his comments. “I HAVE NO REASON TO LIE. You all know I don’t chase clout!” he ranted. “The only reason they responded is because they were swamped by all the team’s fans. COWARDS!! EVERYONE KNOWS IT VERY WELL, HE DOESN’T LIE BECAUSE I’M NEVER IN THIS KIND OF TIME. These bitches [Ruffles] “Try to save face.”
