Early life
Choi Youngjae is known around the world by the mononym Youngjae. He was born the youngest son of his parents. Youngjae is 26 years and from South Korea born on September 17, 1996in Mokpo, South Korea.
Furthermore, Youngjae has an older brother and an older sister in his family. She always dreamed of becoming a singer in her childhood. She used to sing songs with her older brother.
Since her childhood, her hobbies have always been singing, playing the piano, and sleeping late. He has said that he has a hard time waking up in the morning.

Youngjae graduated from Seoul Korean Arts High School in February 2015. After graduation, he was accepted into Seokyeong University in the Department of Theater and Film.

Career and professional life
Choi Youngjae liked to sing and wanted to become a singer since his childhood. He thus joined the music academy in his hometown, Mokpo, to be a more professional singer. He won the Vocal Excellence Award at the Mokpo Youth Music Festival in 2011.
Then in 2013, through a closed audition at the academy, Youngjae made his way as a trainee at JYP Entertainment. After seven months of training, Youngjae made his debut as a singer.
He debuted as the main vocalist and dancer for the South Korean boy band Got7 with ‘Girls Girls Girls’ in January 2014. He was the last member chosen for the team.

Furthermore, Youngjae along with his bandmates made their acting debut with their web drama ‘Dream Knight’.
As a producer, Youngjae has called himself ‘Ars’, which stands for Ars longa vita Brevis, meaning art is long and life is short. Thus, most of his works are credited under the name ‘Ars’.
He has worked on his team’s album, helping with songwriting, writing lyrics, and producing. He is credited with over a dozen Got7 songs.

Choi Yongjae, as a member of Got7, participated in world tours such as Fly Tour in 2016 and Eyes on You in 2018.
Additionally, he has won numerous awards, along with his bandmates, including Four Golden Disk Awards, three Gaon Chart Music Awards, and three Seoul Music Awards.
