Ole Miss has beefed up its athletics management with the hiring of Allen Greene, a former athletic director at Auburn and Buffalo, as the new senior vice president of athletics/external relations and business development, according to a report. The statement was made Wednesday by the Vice Principal in charge of Intercollegiate Athletics. Keith Carter.

Greene, Carter’s associate and assistant director of athletic development at the Ole Miss Athletics Foundation from 2009 to 2012, returned to Oxford. In his new position, Greene will manage the division’s external operations, serve as Rebels chief executive officer, and continue to oversee the athletics operations of the football program.

Carter said, “We are extremely excited to have Allen’s leadership join our team. “Looking back at our time together at OMAF, I can attest to what kind of person and leader Allen was. He has all the qualities you want in his administration. His extensive knowledge will benefit our faculty and we are delighted to welcome his family back to Oxford.”

The $92 million, 233,000 square foot soccer performance center was built during Greene’s time at Auburn, as part of a $175 million investment in basic infrastructure. The new building, the largest capital structure in Auburn Athletics history, includes two of the four largest single donations in program history.
