As more details about the night Riley Strain disappeared in Nashville on March 8, the alleged reason the college student was kicked out of Luke Bryan’s bar just before his disappearance has been revealed.
According to several media outlets, the University of Missouri student disappeared shortly before 10 p.m. on March 8. He was kicked out of Luke’s 32 Bridge bar and separated from the friends he went out with that night.
Except for her bank card, which was discovered near the Cumberland River in Nashville, there have been no other clues as to where Riley Strain went after her experience at the bar.
However, Strain’s stepfather told NBC News earlier this week that he had gone to other bars before being kicked out of the third bar. Strain went out with members of his fraternity that night. He was also seen in a video, which the Nashville Police Department shared, walking past an officer on a sidewalk near the Cumberland River on Gay Street. The video was taken around 9:52 p.m.
TO separate safety videowhich was recorded minutes before the other video, showed Riley Strain stumbling and eventually falling.
Luke Bryan’s bar revealed it only served one alcoholic drink and two glasses of water. The 22-year-old was then escorted out of the bar. The bar association said its security team made the decision to expel Strain based on his standards of conduct. He left through the bar’s Broadway exit. “They followed him down the stairs with a member of his group. “The individual who accompanied Riley did not leave and returned upstairs.”
Family friend says Riley Strain wasn’t acting confrontational or rowdy while at Luke Bryan’s bar
Chris Dingman, a family friend of Riley Strain, spoke to NewsNation about the situation. He said Strain’s expulsion from the bar was not due to any confrontation. But there was a conversation with an employee.
“There was no discussion,” Dingman said. “Riely was actually trying to do a good deed. They felt like, you know, he maybe had had enough.”
Also talking about Riley Strain’s phone, Dingman clarified what happened before the disappearance. “That is something we have been able to find and verify. Riley had battery power at the time his phone went off. What we have been told is that the phone did not turn off due to the battery capacity.”
NewsNation reports that the search efforts for Strain were prompted by the United Cajun Navy, which is a national disaster response operation. This organization has deployed hovercraft and airboats to search the river on either side of the college student.
There have been multiple requests to involve the FBI and TBI. However, assistance is reportedly dependent on the participation of the Nashville Police Department.
Dingman added that he doesn’t know why it took “so long” to begin the initial investigation.
