Afzal Ansari is an Indian politician and member of the Bahujan Samaj Party. He is a Member of the Parliament of India (MP) from Ghazipur constituency of Uttar Pradesh and has served as MLA from Mohammadabad, Uttar Pradesh for five terms. Mukhtar Ansari is his younger brother. In April 2023, he came into limelight after Afzal and Mukhtar Ansari were convicted in the 1996 kidnapping case of VHP worker Nandkishore Rungta and the 2005 murder of BJP MLA Krishnanand Rai.
