Khalid Al Ameri is an Emirati YouTuber who gained fame for posting videos on a daily basis. Ameri was a public investor before switching his career to content creation. On October 1, 2011, he launched his YouTube channel and began posting videos about life, love, and family.
It was some time before Khalid introduced us to his wife, Salama, and their sons, Khalifa and Abdullah. Currently, Salama is a constant contributor to Khalid’s content.

Khalid and Salama met while he was working in Dubai
Khalid was born in the UAE to an Emirati father and a Scottish mother. He went to school in the United Arab Emirates, and after high school, Khalid studied Operations. Khalid got a job in Dubai and there he met Salama. he said in a video titled Who is Khalid Al Ameri?:
“We fell in love, I moved back to Abu Dhabi, married her, and we had two beautiful angels in our lives: Khalifa and Abdulla.”
Khalid had a good job in the United Arab Emirates and was able to support Salama and their children. However, he was not happy with his work and decided to move to the United States to study media. When the family returned to the United Arab Emirates, he got a job at CNN. However, the project on CNN only lasted a month, but he was already in love with the media.
He decided to write his own show and air it on a wide range of TV shows. His goal was to present the United Arab Emirates in a different light, but no one wanted to partner with him on his new project.
Salama encouraged Khalid to start making videos and that brought the couple closer
Salama encouraged Khalid to make videos by buying him his first camera. She told him that she believed he could do it. Khalid claimed to make videos and included Salama in most of them. Salama also helped with video editing when Khalid needed help.
At that time, Salama and Khalid’s marriage was not going very well. On July 18, 2017, Khalid shared a photo on his Instagram page and captioned it with a story about the couple’s struggles. He wrote:
“For a long time the marriage of Salama and I was not our marriage, it was everyone else’s. It was family members who told us what was best, it was ‘friends’ who told us what to do… These were people we didn’t even know we were trying to look like because they fit. We grew so far apart that we no longer knew why we were together.”
Khalid and Salama decided to put their love first and everything else second. They made videos together and their bond grew stronger with each video they made. Khalid said in the Who is Khalid Al Ameri? video:
“In an interesting way, it brought us closer together. What people may not know is that the videos we made together were also lessons for ourselves. They were videos about moments we’ve been through, about difficulties we’ve been through and how we’ve emerged stronger from them. It has made our marriage so much better today.”

Khalid has been quite open about his life and family, revealing that Salama suffers from vitiligo. Salama suffers from the condition, but doesn’t let it get her down. He has modeled for various skin care companies, including nivea. She said friday magazine:
“I am proud of the skin I am in. It’s part of me. Although I wasn’t interested in fashion, I realized that it plays an important role in helping me express myself.
Salama and Khalid also revealed that they have an autistic son. It took Khalid two years to work up the courage to tell people that Abdullah is autistic. Watching the video, you could tell Khalid was overwhelmed, but he kept going. He describes it as the most difficult video he’s ever made. Khalid spoke with friday magazine on why the video had to be perfect:
“It’s something my son will see and remember when he grows up. He was very passionate and excited when we found out and he was not ready to share it with the world. We wanted to do more testing and be absolutely sure. It is not easy to accept him as a father. We tried different schools, different programs, until we were completely sold on it.”
Khalid’s main goal is to make videos that bring people together.
Khalid is determined to bring the world closer with the videos he makes. He wants people to live together in peace and harmony. Videos of him have debunked myths about working conditions in the United Arab Emirates, showcased humanitarian efforts in different parts of the world, and shown that different religions can coexist without conflict. Khalid spoke about his and Salama’s visit to Bangladesh to raise awareness of Rohingya Muslims with friday magazine:
“Each person had a story to tell. There was a mother who had lost all her children; a young couple who hid underwater for days; a five-year-old boy looking for his two-year-old brother… Hearing this, I broke down. These people had experienced the worst of nature and humanity. But still they went through life with a peaceful disposition.”
From the comments on his videos, it can be said that Khalid is loved by the global community and people appreciate his efforts. Khalid also runs a Facebook group known as Khalid World Group. Group members are encouraged to share their experiences and help each other. Khalid continued:
“There are single moms, divorcees, people battling illnesses, or just normal people looking to make new friends. They are finding acceptance and a voice within the group. To have a global community where everyone thinks the same thing and loves and supports each other is amazing. I hope it continues to grow and more people share more stories.”
