Yeardley Smith A Voice Actress Of The Simpsons Got Married To Dan Grice

Yeardley Smith of The Simpsons married former police investigator Dan Grice on Monday, July 11. On July 13, Smith’s agent verified the news. Dan Grice is a former Springfield police detective who met Smith in 2014 when he volunteered to be part of her security detail when she was in town. Yeardley Smith has been the voice of Lisa Simpson since The Simpsons debuted in 1989. The pair married in their Los Angeles home. More information regarding the wedding will be released later.

How Did Yeardley Smith meet her spouse?

Dan Grice, as previously stated, was a detective with the Springfield Police Department. Smith and Grice first met in 2014, when the former traveled to Springfield, Oregon for the unveiling of a Simpsons-themed mural commemorating the show’s 25th anniversary. Yeardley was originally uninterested in the event because she was concerned about her safety after being a victim of stalking in the past.

When Yeardley inquired about security, the Springfield Police Department told her that she would be accompanied by a plain-clothes detective during the event. Dan turned out to be that detective. Dan volunteered when his boss asked for volunteers for the occasion so that the other detectives could spend time with their families and children. He had no such obligations since he was unmarried.

Grice knew Smith since he had seen her in previous films, but he had no idea she was the voice of Lisa Simpson. He then followed Smith to the event the next day, and they exchanged phone numbers before Smith left for Los Angeles. They spoke through text messages, and Grice met Smith while visiting Los Angeles, while Smith traveled to Oregon to see him. The couple got engaged in 2018, and while they planned to marry in March 2021, the marriage was postponed twice because of the Covid-19 epidemic.
