American actor Alec Baldwin has responded to comedian Rob Schneider’s recent criticism of Saturday Night Live and Kate McKinnon’s portrayal of Hillary Clinton. On September 1, 64-year-old Baldwin, who has hosted SNL 17 times, took to Instagram to post a lengthy video criticizing Schneider.
“I guess it must be an unusually slow news cycle if we are discussing Rob Schneider’s comments about Kate McKinnon impersonating Hillary Clinton all these years ago.”
While Alec Baldwin, a Democrat, claimed to find Schneider “very, very funny” and applauded his “great performance” on the show, of which he was a member for four years from 1990 to 1994, he also commented on his conservative beliefs.
“You have to be careful when criticizing people’s judgments. And you turn around and pause for a minute, realizing that their previous judgment led them to hire you.”
From 2016 to 2020, Baldwin played former US President Donald Trump on a sketch comedy show. In the video, actor Beetlejuice calls Trump a “maniac”.
“I’ve seen conservatives claim that there is prejudice against them, which I think is terrible.” There are individuals that I know who are conservatives and conservatives, and I will not name them… Trump is the first president in the history of our country unaffected by that process. It must be tough for the Rob Schneiders of the world. It’s hard to know that your boyfriend is a lunatic.”

Rob Schneider, 58, criticized Alec Baldwin’s portrayal of the former president in 2018, saying he didn’t find Alec’s portrayal of Trump humorous, adding: “(Baldwin) clearly looks down on someone whom he’s not. he’s showing off.” In response to his criticism, actor Edge stated:
“I made a cartoon about [Trump].” I was about to push him to the edge of insanity.”
The actor went on to say that SNL “must be doing something good,” as season 48 is coming out this fall.
What did Rob Schneider say on Saturday Night Live that made Alec Baldwin respond?
Rob Schneider recently joined The Glenn Beck Podcast and made headlines for controversial remarks, claiming that Kate McKinnon’s impersonation of Hillary Clinton in a 2016 SNL episode ruined the show.
“I hate messing up my old show.”
He attacked Clinton, who was defeated by Donald Trump in the presidential election, and dragged Kate McKinnon into the fold.
“When Hillary Clinton lost – which made sense under the circumstances – she was not the most rational person in the room. Then Kate McKinnon showed up on Saturday Night Live with a cold opening and everything, dressed up as Hillary Clinton, and started performing ‘Hallelujah’.”

He continued to say,
“‘A joke at the end, please,’ I begged earnestly. Don’t do that. Please don’t go there.’ And in the end there was no joke, so I said ‘It’s over.’ It’s over. It’s not coming back.”
Rob Schneider has yet to respond to Alec Baldwin’s feature-length film condemning his claims.
