According to inside sources, the WGA strike could be coming to an end.

On Wednesday night (September 20), CNBC reported that the writers and producers are closer to finalizing a deal after a face-to-face meeting.

Sources told the outlet that the two sides met in hopes of closing a deal on Thursday.

They added that while those involved were optimistic, the strike could continue until the end of the year if an agreement is not reached.

The WGA and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers issued a joint statement indicating that they would meet to negotiate. Both sides are scheduled to reconvene at 9 a.m. PT Thursday for another meeting.

WGA members have been on strike for more than 100 days and actors joined the picket line in July. As a result, several high-profile projects have been suspended, including Strange things and marvel Blade.
