Holly Willoughby placed on ‘indefinite leave’ This morning after an alleged kidnapping plot against him.
The 42-year-old TV presenter and mother-of-three is “distraught” after a plot to kidnap her emerged.
On October 5, fans immediately noticed Willoughby’s absence in This morning. A source said Mirror that returning to work was probably the last thing on his mind. Alison Hammond was chosen as a last minute replacement. She did not even address Willoughby’s absence or offer any reason as to why she was replacing Willoughby. In turn, viewers began to express concerns.
ITV bosses have given Willoughby permission to stay away from work for as long as he needs during this difficult time. Law enforcement is monitoring the situation and taking all necessary measures to protect her and her family. Officers have also been sent to her London home to provide round-the-clock protection as new details emerge.
“We are obviously all shocked to hear the news and want to send our love and biggest hugs to Holly,” Hammond told ITV viewers after O’Leary mentioned reports of the alleged kidnapping plot.
“There has been no discussion about when, or if, she will return to the This morning sofa”, the source of Mirror Explain.

On October 6, Gavin Plumb of Potters Field, Harlow was charged with solicitation to commit murder and incitement to commit kidnapping.
Superintendent Tim Tubbs said:
“This was an extremely fast-paced investigation, with many of our officials and national partners working through the night to secure these charges. “The protection of any victim is paramount and we will continue to prioritize it as the investigation progresses.”
This has been a huge scare for Holly Willoughby and we can only imagine what she and her family have been through. We will continue to keep her in our thoughts and hope she returns to the program when she is ready and, most importantly, safe.
