Michael Lang brought much joy to the American people when he organized the highly successful Woodstock ’69 festival. It was a turbulent time in the US, with civil rights riots and anti-Vietnam War riots rocking the country. Thus, music lovers embraced Woodstock’s theme of peace and love.
Lang attempted to recapture the Woodstock ’69 vibes three decades later, but the event was a catastrophic failure. Riots, robberies, sexual assaults and death replaced the peace and love promised by the organizers.
Michael Lang passed away in early 2022, three months after giving an interview for the Netflix documentary Train Wreck: Woodstock ’99.
Michael Lang had two children with his second wife, Tamara Pajic.

The couple married in 1978 and welcomed Molly, LariAnn and Shala before divorcing in 1982.
Michael preferred to keep his personal life out of the spotlight. Therefore, there is little public information about his wives and children.
