Will Zalatoris believes that he would not have become a professional golfer, or even a champion, without the support of his parents. His father introduced him to golf, and his mother instilled in him a competitive drive to succeed. Will Zalatoris is a quiet person who doesn’t say much and doesn’t talk too much on social media. On the track, however, he lets it rip, showing his fixation on winning. Furthermore, he said that he inherited such a way of thinking from his parents. William Patrick Zalatoris is a 27-year-old professional golfer from San Francisco, California. He participates on the PGA Tour as well as other major tours.
Zalatoris grew up in Dallas and attended Trinity Christian Academy, where he won the US Junior Amateur Championship. He continued his education at Wake Forest University. Will’s abilities garnered him a lot of attention and he was named the ACC Player of the Year in 2017. He rose through the ranks, earning honors such as First Team GCCA All-American, Nicklaus Award Finalist and Hogan Award Semifinalist.
Will also competed in every competition available and represented the United States in the Walker Cup among renowned players such as Collin Morikawa. Zalatoris is now at his peak. He has one PGA Tour and one Korn Ferry Tour win.
Will Zalatoris’ parents: Richard and Catherine Zalatoris
The parents of the professional golfer decided to keep their information private. We have, however, some anecdotes about them. Will’s father, Richard Zalatoris, worked in retail for over 35 years and was a pilot like his grandparents and uncles. In addition, he enjoyed golf and taught it to his son. Richard played for Augusta Nationals and California Golf Club. He brought Will to practice when he was just seven years old and taught him the basics of golf.
Unlike other father coaches, he never forced Will to adopt a certain style of play. Instead, he didn’t take his son’s golf lessons and instead let him grow on his own. “I’ve never felt that overpowering presence that so many kids can,” Will told me. Catherine, Will’s mother, was an athlete in her day, like her son. In Oregon, she competed in the 400 and 800 meter sprints. As a result, she acquired a competitive attitude, which she passed on to her child. She also brought her son to the gym as a child so he could compete with other youngsters. Although she doesn’t play golf, she lives in Bend, Oregon, a golf hotbed in the Pacific Northwest. “She always told me: don’t push anything early,” Will recalled of his mother.
Who is Caitlin Zalatoris, Will Zalatoris’ wife?
Zalatoris married his girlfriend-turned-fiancée Caitlin in 2022. They began dating in 2018 after meeting at Wake Forest University. Caitlin is 28 years old and had a birthday on July 29th. She also holds a BA in Psychology and will graduate from the University of Texas in 2019. The couple likes to spend time together, and the golfer often posts photos of his wife on Instagram. They just went to Wimbledon together.
