He said, “Like you’re too black for the white kids and too white for the black kids. And so you are not Filipino because you are only half.” Over time, he began to embrace his heritage, becoming more comfortable in his own skin and recognizing that he is unique because he is mixed race.

Nino Remigio is Nikko’s younger brother. Nino, like Nikko, grew up playing football, and today he plays wide receiver for San Diego State. Nino, who is 5’11, graduated from Mater Dei High School.
