Memphis rapper Young Dolph was senselessly shot to death in a cookie shop in Memphis. Adolph Robert Thompson Jr. built his hip-hop career on fearless authenticity and an unwavering desire to maintain control over his music. The young Dolph and his girlfriend Mia Jaye shared two children, Tre and Ari.
Mia Jaye and Young Dolph began dating in 2012. They welcomed son Tre in June 2014 and daughter Ari in April 2017. In October 2020, Mia shared an Instagram photo showing how much the family had grown. of the duo in six years. She captioned the post:
“Look at us now… 2 beautiful creations later, years of growing pains later, years of lessons learned, later… healthy, happy kids and we still strive to show up for our Call of Duty & Responsibility every day… Such a Blessing to looking back at how we started versus how it’s going.”
In May 2020, Young Dolph opened up about spending time with her children during the quarantine period. He said G.Q. that he had become a bit of a child after spending so much time with his children.

Young Dolph’s ‘CEO first’ mentality will benefit Mia and the children. Dolph owned his masters, so most of the funds from his music will go to his family.

“Black men deserve to grow old” reads the motto of Mia’s organization MOM.EO Through an Instagram post on August 17, 2021, Mia Jaye declared that black men deserve to grow old to achieve their purpose in life.
For a man like Young Dolph, that purpose was to raise his children and make a positive impact in the community. “Dads who are actively involved in the lives of their families provide a constant source of stability and support,” he reads in the post. Jay continued:
“When I advocate for all Black men who are 20 times more likely than their male counterparts to die prematurely due to violent crime that occurs within our community…I am advocating for these men to live their purpose and positively impact the Black community. .”
Mia Jaye deserves less to have her young black partner die, considering the work she’s done to raise awareness of the value of black lives. Through her organization’s Instagram page, Mia has asked for space and time to mourn Dolph:
“Due to the tragic loss of Adolph Thornton Jr., aka Young Dolph, the team will be taking over social media and store activities to give our CEO Mia time to grieve. Black men deserve to grow old. It is important that we come together in solidarity and choose love over hate. Mia asks for space and prayers during this difficult time.”
