Premgi made his debut as a music composer in 2007 with the song Niyabagam Varuthe. Early in his career, he focused on composing music. He started as an assistant to film composer Yuvan Shankar Raja, later moving into playback singing. Initially, his singing roles mostly involved managing rap parts in Yuvan Shankar Raja’s compositions and later he increased his collaborations with other musicians. Along with his work with Yuvan Shankar Raja, he also started working on remixing songs for a few soundtrack albums, starting with the song “Loosu Penne” from the film Vallavan. He has composed other songs for films including Aadhe Neram Aadhe Idam (2009), Ennamo Nadakkudhu (2014), Zombie (2019), Kutty Story (2021), and Manmadha Leelai (2022).
