Warren Buffett was born on August 30, 1930 in Omaha, Nebraska. Lt. Howard Buffett, his father, is a businessman and politician. His mother, Leila Stahl Buffett, also came from the Stahl family. He is the younger brother of Doris Buffett and Roberta Buffett Elliott. They are of French-German origin. His sisters are also benefactors. Growing up in a business household gave him a good knowledge of business and investment. He was inspired by the book One Thousand Ways to Make $1000 when he was seven years old.

In 1951, Warren Buffett began working as an investment salesman for Buffett-Falk & Co, where he remained for three years until 1954. In the meantime, he worked as a stockbroker.
